Does My Dog Really Need A Dog Life Jacket?

Oct 27, 2010   //   by Jason   //   Dog Life Jacket Blog  //  1 Comment

It was a late summer day when I was about 12 years old, and I was reading in my room when I was startled by a horrific scream coming from outside. I rushed to the window and I saw my Mom yelling for my Father outside near our backyard pool. Terrified and shaking I ran downstairs and pushed open the door to the backyard as fast I could possibly move. It was then I discovered the devistating truth. Our beloved family dog, Sammy a peek-a-poo had apparently fallen into our backyard pool.

Sammy was an older dog, and smaller in stature, he had fallen into the pool and drowned strugling to get out on the top step. The immense pain I felt was unbearable and I am tearing up writing this now. This could have been prevented, we should of been more aware of the potential for danger. To think a silly $40 could of saved our dog’s life still haunts me to this day.

Please do not think this cannot happen to your dog, because I’m living proof it can. Whether your dog loves to go in the ocean, backyard pool, pond or take boat rides do not make the same mistake and buy a dog life jacket for your pet today.

Dogs love the water and I love to take my Labrdor retreiver to the beach every day, but I won’t ever be worried about my ego and make a mistake of letting my dog in the water without a little piece of mind. Regardless of where you purchase your dog life jacket, don’t wait until it is too late.
